Shraadh Puja is a Hindu ritual performed to honor and offer respect to deceased ancestors. It is conducted to ensure the peaceful transition of the departed souls and to seek their blessings for the family. The ritual is part of Pitru Paksha, a 16-day lunar period where offerings like food, water, and prayers are made to the ancestors to help them attain peace in the afterlife. ​ 1- Offering Food: Special food (Pind Daan) is prepared and offered to the ancestors, believed to nourish them in the afterlife.​​​ 2. Tarpan: The ritual of offering water mixed with sesame seeds to the ancestors, symbolizing gratitude and respect. 3. Ritualistic Prayers: Performed by qualified pandits, these prayers invoke the ancestors and ensure they receive the offerings. 4. Helping Souls Attain Moksha: It is believed that performing Shraadh helps the souls attain moksha (liberation) and removes obstacles for the family.
